Interviewer: Describe your perfect NYC day and night.
Lesley Arfin: Buying something and not feeling bad, reading at dusk, walking to meet my friends for dinner and hanging out doing nothing. It’s always summer. 84 degrees. A lot of good jokes are happening. No showers. All love. Nice breeze to fall asleep into clean sheets and a 24-hour marathon of the Real Housewives or something.
I went to Marina Abramovic’s performance piece, “The Artist is Present,” a few years back at the New York MoMA, and saved a ton of pictures from the museum’s Flickr account. The other day, while watching HBO’s Girls (the greatest thing ever, even if you don’t have a vagina; especially if you don’t have a vagina) I suddenly realized that one of my favorite images happened to be of Jemima Kirke, from the show (and Dunham’s first feature, Tiny Furniture) ! The cyberworld is insanely small!
